Our Chickens

We have a nice flock of layers. From the beautiful Sussex Speckled to my diehard layers- the Black Australorp. With lots of Wyandottes and Orphingtons in between. They have the run of the farm except during the peak summer growing times – then they are kept in their large “summer” yard.

They are on an excellent local layer feed blend, which contains really fresh ingredients, kelp and no animal by products. In addition to their daily ration, we also give them flax seed and any extra whey from cheese making. They have full time access to oyster shell and fresh water.

Our eggs are collected several times a day.
